The Story of Dumontel Healthcare Consulting
The name “Dumontel” in Dumontel Healthcare Consulting LLC carries a deep and personal meaning to the company's founder, Carole W. Kamangu. It’s derived from the middle name of the founder’s youngest brother and symbolizes protection. This connection fuels the founder’s dedication, mirroring the desire to safeguard the health of the vulnerable – a mission that extends far beyond the realms of a professional commitment.
At 7 years old, Carole nearly lost her life to a preventable infection under a fragile health system and survived; but not everyone does. She realized back then that she wanted one day to contribute to something bigger than herself and make an impact in the healthcare field, even before she knew what that meant.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she recognized the increasing need for her strategic leadership, innovative mindset, and infection prevention and control expertise spanning various industries worldwide. To address this demand, she founded Dumontel Healthcare Consulting with the primary mission of helping leaders in healthcare and public health willing to look at their systems, challenge the status quo responsibly, and design systems that empower people, prevent harm and create measurable results, so others could survive like she did.
Under Carole's leadership, Dumontel Healthcare Consulting has helped organizations achieve over $1.1 million in cost savings, reductions in preventable harm exceeding 30%, an increase in patient satisfaction of 60%, and the leadership recognition client organizations.
These achievements have earned the 2026 Healthcare Award Winner, Infection Prevention Experts of 2026, through Global Health & Pharma for Dumontel Healthcare Consulting, and the Influential Woman of the Year 2026 through Influential Women magazine for Carole W. Kamangu.
